We wake early with the bells and for the first time I'm not too sorry to be leaving our apartment! Another lovely undulating cycle retracing some of our tracks back to Brebinj where we wait for the ferry. Simon has a swim from the rocks, I read my book in the sunshine. Picturesque ferry trip basking in the sunshine trying to identify all the islands from our map. We arrive in Zadar shortly after a gross cruise ship that rather blots the landscape! Our apartment: Luxury Room Countess Vitali lives up to its name. Right in the centre of Zadar our room has french windows overlooking St Anastasia Cathedral from which we can watch the world go by (and no toads!) Zadar is a beautiful small city with Roman and Venetian architecture, several fine Churches and marbled streets. There is a really exciting buzz and once again we feel transported to another world. The Sea Organ is a series of limestone steps under which there are pipes. The waves from the sea create strange whale like music which is strangely mesmerising. We visit the Cathedral of Anastasia and climb 180 steps up the tower to enjoy views of the city and land beyond. Back to our balcony to up date blogs and drink white wine whilst people watching. We eat at Fosa Seafood Restaurant in an idyllic setting on a terrace by the water's edge: Tuna Carpaccio, marinated Sea Bass and a very fresh grilled Sea Bream to share. Back along the shiny marbled narrow streets to our fabulously located apartment. We feel like we are on a mini City break.
